After several years of involvement in Ldr/Yessal, Ndary Aïdara is joining Kiiraay-Les patriotes républicains. The former candidate for mayor of Yeumbeul Nord, credited with 1,632 votes in the 2022 local elections, now intends to put his political experience at the service of his new party and support the work of President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye.
By Abdou Latif Mohamed MANSARAY – The lines are shifting in the political arena of Yeumbeul Nord. Ndary Aïdara has chosen to leave Ldr/Yessal to continue his career under the colours of Kiiraay-Les patriotes républicains. This departure marks a new stage for a man who was one of the founding members of the party led by Modou Diagne Fada. During his time in Ldr/Yessal, Ndary Aïdara held several strategic posts. He served notably as municipal coordinator in Yeumbeul Nord, departmental coordinator in Keur Massar, national secretary for sport and member of the steering committee. These responsibilities enabled him to take part in establishing and running the party in the Dakar suburbs.
His municipal ambitions took shape in the 2022 local elections. Standing for mayor of Yeumbeul Nord, he won 1,632 votes, a result that reflects his participation in local political competition.
The decision to join Kiiraay was reportedly not improvised. Ndary Aïdara explains that he took the time to consult those close to him and his grassroots supporters before taking the plunge. He also mentions discussions with Aminata Touré, presented as supervisor, as well as with Modou Bara Gaye, mayor of Yeumbeul Sud.
The former official insists that he does not disown the years spent in Ldr/Yessal, where he says he invested time, energy and resources. He nonetheless intends to open a new chapter of his political engagement within his new party. His move comes with a stated objective: to contribute to the success of the mission of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye. It now remains to turn this membership into mobilising power and an effective presence on the ground.
In Yeumbeul Nord, where political balances are also built through individual trajectories and activist networks, Ndary Aïdara’s arrival in Kiiraay is a move worth watching. His political weight will now be measured by his ability to rally his supporters and to make this change of banner part of a lasting dynamic.
